TrueConf provides a simple and efficient way to make video calls. Although you need an account to use the service, creating one is quick and free.
.
You can set the language of your choice, making it accessible to users worldwide. Also, its features aren’t complicated at all. However, it does not have a Help section or a manual, or at least, it is not immediately accessible, which can be somewhat problematic if you require some assistance.
Although many if its features are limited in the shareware version (for instance, you can’t get phone calls from your contacts, create chats or modify the participants’ roles during the meetings), it does allow you to modify some of your video characteristics such as backgrounds, light, and sharpness, as well as audio properties and the recording of your calls. Also, you can connect to a proxy server to make your meetings safer and more convenient; scan the bandwidth to anticipate the quality of your calls; upload slides to create your own slideshows, or record and store your calls’ flow in your system.
I didn’t have any issue when testing the program, and video calls have all the basic features users can expect, such as superposing the program over, turning off and on audio and video, using the chat during the call, organizing the participants’ screens, and more.
Maybe the main disadvantage us the cost of the program. It is subscription-based and not very affordable for common users.
Overall, if you are looking for a straightforward and reliable tool for video calls, TrueConf is an ideal option.
